About TLC Help

TLC Help helps NYC taxi, green cab and for-hire drivers understand and resolve TLC summonses, with plain-language guides and independent attorneys.

  • Updated Oct 11, 2026

TLC Help exists for one kind of person: a New York City driver holding a TLC summons and trying to figure out what it means.

TLC summonses are written in rule codes. The process runs through two agencies — the Taxi & Limousine Commission, which writes the summons and collects the fine, and OATH, the city tribunal that decides the case. Deadlines are short, and missing one can cost you your license.

What we do

  • Explain your summons in plain language. Take a photo; our AI reads the summons, explains each charge, and checks the official OATH record.
  • Show your options — pay, settle, fight, or reschedule — with the real penalties from TLC's published rules.
  • Connect you with representation. Cases are handled by independent attorneys and OATH-registered representatives in our network, matched by the type of summons and where your hearing is.
  • Keep you informed. Your portal shows every step: documents, hearing dates, the decision, and what you owe.

What we are not

TLC Help is not a law firm and is not affiliated with the NYC Taxi & Limousine Commission or OATH. Information on this site is general information, not legal advice. Legal advice and representation come from the attorney or registered representative assigned to your case.
