295 Lincoln Corsairs held TLC licenses on October 12, 2026, all as for-hire vehicles (FHVs). It ranks 48th overall and is one of five Lincoln models in the TLC top 60.
The Corsair's distinctive number is its plug-in hybrids. 34 Corsairs decode as plug-in hybrid (PHEV), cars that can be charged from a plug and driven a short way on electricity. Among the top 60 TLC models, only the Toyota RAV4 Prime has more. The other 261 Corsairs are gas, and none decode as a regular hybrid.
About the data
The FHV list and medallion vehicle list that TLC publishes have no make or model field. TLC Help decoded the VINs with NHTSA's vPIC decoder, which gives the model family and a fuel type. The fuel type may be wrong for a few model years. Counts are for a single day.
Two peaks: 2022 and 2025
Model year 2022 has 98 Corsairs and 2025 has 82. Between them, 2023 (45) and 2024 (40) are smaller. Only 6 are from 2020, the first year on TLC plates, and 6 from 2026 so far. 43.4% of Corsairs are model year 2024 or newer, compared with about 31% of all FHVs, so the Corsair fleet is younger than average but not as new as the Lincoln Nautilus, where the figure is 65.9%.
TLC's current FHV rules set no fixed age limit; inspections decide how long a car stays on the road. See TLC vehicle retirement age and TLC vehicle inspection.
Gas or plug-in?
EPA ratings for model year 2022 show the gap between the versions:
Sources: EPA labels for the FWD, AWD and PHEV. MPGe means "miles per gallon equivalent", a way to compare electric driving with gas.
To tell the versions apart when buying used, look at the engine. In the 2022 EPA listings the plug-in uses a 2.5-liter engine with a variable-ratio automatic, while the gas Corsairs use a 2.0- or 2.3-liter turbo with an 8-speed. Also check the year: the EPA lists the Corsair AWD PHEV for model years 2021, 2022, 2023, 2025 and 2026, but not for 2024. The TLC data does not say which years the 34 plug-ins are.
The Corsair PHEV is also rated well above the gas versions when its battery is empty (33 mpg vs 24–25). That is not true of every plug-in: the EPA rates the 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV at 26 mpg on gas, the same as the gas Outlander 4WD. The electric miles only help if you can charge often. A 28-mile range covers a few short trips, not a full shift. Before choosing one, read NYC EV charging for TLC drivers, then compare costs with the lease-vs-buy tool.
Base types
290 Corsairs (98.3%) are at black car bases, 3 at livery bases and 2 at luxury limousine bases. That is a different pattern from its bigger sibling: 9.4% of Nautilus SUVs are at luxury limousine bases, against 0.7% of Corsairs. None are yellow taxis, and none are marked wheelchair accessible.
Getting a Corsair on TLC plates
The Corsair is not a wheelchair accessible vehicle, and new FHV licenses are only issued for approved accessible vehicles (TLC). The way in is a vehicle transfer on an existing license that is not WAV-restricted. Rule 59A-09(a) in chapter 59 requires the transfer application within 15 days of registering the car with the DMV, and approval only after inspection. More: TLC plates for FHVs.

Data on this page
Aggregates of public data. They describe trips and vehicles, never individual people.
TLC's vehicle lists have no make/model column, so TLC Help decoded the VIN of every licensed vehicle with NHTSA's vPIC decoder (one representative VIN per manufacturer + model-descriptor + model-year pattern) and published only counts. 5 of 115,081 vehicles (0%) could not be decoded to a model and are left out. vPIC sometimes reports trim-family names (e.g. 'RX' not 'RX 350h'); powertrain comes from vPIC's electrification/fuel fields and may misclassify a few model years. Snapshot lists change daily.
