Queensbridge/Ravenswood (TLC zone 193) is a mid-sized Queens zone, about 1,356 pickups a day, with a strong pull toward Manhattan. 14.3% of app pickups paid the Manhattan congestion fee, 3rd-highest in Queens outside the airports. It has two DOT relief stands with 14 spaces, and the Queensboro Bridge passes over it on the way into Manhattan.

Queensbridge/Ravenswood at a glance
On TLC's zone map, zone 193 touches Astoria (7), Long Island City/Hunters Point (145), Long Island City/Queens Plaza (146) and Old Astoria (179). Its lookup label, "Boro Zone", groups data and is not a legal line (taxi zones explained).
When rides start
The busiest pickup hour of the week is 8 a.m. on weekdays (about 100). Saturday is the busiest day (about 1,572 pickups, against 1,322 on a weekday and 1,310 on a Sunday), but its pickups are spread out. Saturday stays between about 87 and 96 an hour from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sunday peaks at 11 a.m. Drop-offs peak late, at 10 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays and at midnight on Sundays.
Month by month: busier in summer
This zone is busiest in summer. Pickups fell to 35,534 in February 2026, then rose to about 44,400 a month in July and August 2026, the highest of the year.
Where trips go
Long Island City/Hunters Point (11.7%) and Astoria (10.8%) are the top destinations, then trips inside the zone (7.9%) and Old Astoria (5.7%). Airports take 6.7% together: LaGuardia 4.3%, JFK 2.4%. Roosevelt Island, across the river, gets 1.9%.
Fares, pay and the congestion fee
The median app trip is 2.72 miles but 15.6 minutes, slow for its length. Median driver pay is $14.66 (21st of 67), but pay per engaged hour is only $59.72 (62nd), because of that slow speed. Engaged hours count passenger time only, so they are not hourly earnings. 7.6% of app pickups head to an airport, 8th in Queens.
Yellow taxis (32,662 pickups) and green cabs (2,585, 12th-most in Queens) both work here. 27.2% of yellow pickups paid the congestion fee. As of October 12, 2026 that per-trip charge is $0.75 for taxis and green cabs and $1.50 for app trips, paid by the rider (MTA).
Relief stands, the bridge and pickup rules
- Relief stands (DOT data, updated October 1, 2026): 38th Avenue between 11th and 12th Streets, 10 spaces, taxis only, 1-hour limit; and 12th Street between 33rd Road and 34th Avenue, 4 spaces, taxis and FHVs, 1-hour limit. An FHV driver may not use the taxi-only stand. Chapter 80 §80-19(d)(7) requires you to obey the posted vehicle types and time limit. DOT says its map may not match every sign (DOT).
- Queensboro Bridge: OpenStreetMap's outline of the bridge crosses this zone. It is not one of the MTA's tolled bridges and tunnels (MTA), so there is no bridge toll; trips into Manhattan at or below 60th Street still pay the congestion charge. See the East River free bridges page.
- The zone is in TLC's Hail Zone. App drivers may only take base-dispatched trips (80-19(c)(1); who can pick up where).

Data on this page
Aggregates of public data. They describe trips and vehicles, never individual people.
Aggregated by TLC Help from TLC trip records, Sep 2025 – Aug 2026 (pickup date; TLC publishes trip files about two months after the month ends and may revise them). 'App' = high-volume for-hire services (Uber, Lyft). Taxi records with a negative fare (reversals) are excluded. Averages, medians and rates use 'clean' trips only: 1 minute to 4 hours, more than 0 and under 150 miles, fare above $0 and under $1,000. 'Fare' is the metered fare_amount for taxis and base_passenger_fare for app trips — before tolls, tips, taxes and surcharges — so it is not what the passenger paid in total. App driver_pay is TLC's 'total driver pay (not including tolls or tips and net of commission, surcharges, or taxes)'. Tips are separate. 'Per engaged hour' divides pay by passenger time only (pickup to drop-off). It leaves out time driving to pickups and waiting for requests, so real hourly earnings are lower; it is not the TLC minimum-pay formula. Monthly cells with 1–9 trips are shown as blank (null). Pairs with fewer than 10 trips are not listed.
