Charge codes 1

Old TLC adjudication (hearing) rules

Old Chapter 8 set the procedures of the TLC's own hearing tribunal (summonses, hearings, defaults, appeals). It was repealed on April 1, 2011 and replaced by Chapter 68; in 2013 hearings moved to OATH (48 RCNY Chapter 6). The only code seen here, 8-01, is the definitions section, so it is almost certainly a data-entry error.

Old TLC hearing rules – definitions section (not a violation)

Old Rule 8-01 was the definitions section of the TLC's adjudication (hearing) rules, defining terms such as administrative law judge, appeal and authorized representative. A definitions section cannot be broken, so this code was probably entered in error or as a placeholder; the actual charge can't be identified from it.

Fines and points are shown only where they were checked against the official penalty text. Counts come from NYC Open Data — OATH Hearings Division Case Status; some dates in that data are entry errors. Look up your summons to see the charges on it, or scan it for a plain-English explanation.
