Baisley Park, TLC taxi zone 10, has the highest airport share of any Queens zone. 11.5% of app pickups here went to an airport, more than in any other zone in Queens and joint 5th of all 263 NYC zones. Riders started 877,751 trips here from September 2025 to August 2026, about 2,405 a day, 19th in Queens. JFK is the second most common destination after Jamaica, and the few yellow taxi trips that start here are long rides toward Manhattan.
Baisley Park at a glance (zone 10)
In TLC's lookup table zone 10 is a Queens "Boro Zone", a label for trip data rather than a legal line. It touches five zones: Saint Albans, South Jamaica, South Ozone Park, Springfield Gardens North and Springfield Gardens South. It does not border the JFK zone itself, yet JFK is near the top of its trip lists both ways. 778,572 trips ended here.
When rides start here
Baisley Park is a morning zone. On weekdays, about 222 pickups start in the 8 a.m. hour, and 24.4% of weekday pickups start between 7 and 10 a.m. Weekends peak earlier than in many Queens zones: Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 11 a.m. Drop-offs peak at 5 p.m. on weekdays.
Jamaica first, JFK second
The top destination is Jamaica (15.4%). JFK (10.4%) is next, ahead of South Ozone Park (8.3%) and trips that stay in Baisley Park (8.1%). Saint Albans (5.4%) and places outside New York City (5.3%) follow. On the other side, JFK is the second-biggest source of trips that end here (10.9% of drop-offs), just behind Jamaica (15%). Springfield Gardens North, which also does not touch the JFK zone, has almost the same app airport share (10.4%).
Two kinds of trips: app and yellow
App riders made 856,741 pickups (97.6%). Despite the airport share, the typical app ride is local: 2.83 miles and 13.3 minutes at the median, a $16.13 fare and $12.93 driver pay before tips. Riders tipped 2.5% ($0.54 on average). Pay per engaged hour was $62.35, which does not count time between trips.
Yellow taxis did 20,631 pickups, 2.4% of the total and more than the Queens middle share (1.5%). Their trips look nothing like the app trips: a median of 12.25 miles, 36.7 minutes and $50.00, and 22.3% of them paid the Congestion Relief Zone charge, so they ended in or passed through Manhattan south of 60th Street. Card-paying yellow riders tipped 13.6%. By contrast, only 2.1% of yellow pickups went to an airport, so in this zone it is app riders, not taxi riders, who head to JFK. Green cabs did 379 pickups.
Month to month, total pickups grew from 65,877 in September 2025 to 78,654 in May 2026 and held near 75,000 through the summer. Yellow pickups ran about 1,750–2,080 a month until May and 1,092–1,294 a month from June.
Pickup rules
Baisley Park is in TLC's Hail Zone (Chapter 51): a passenger may hail a yellow or green cab here. For-hire drivers, including app drivers, need a base dispatch for every pickup (80-19(c)(1)). If you take a rider to JFK, the airport's own rules apply once you are there; see JFK for drivers. DOT data showed no relief stand or taxi-stand sign in zone 10 on 2026-10-12.

Aggregates of public data. They describe trips and vehicles, never individual people.
Aggregated by TLC Help from TLC trip records, Sep 2025 – Aug 2026 (pickup date; TLC publishes trip files about two months after the month ends and may revise them). 'App' = high-volume for-hire services (Uber, Lyft). Taxi records with a negative fare (reversals) are excluded. Averages, medians and rates use 'clean' trips only: 1 minute to 4 hours, more than 0 and under 150 miles, fare above $0 and under $1,000. 'Fare' is the metered fare_amount for taxis and base_passenger_fare for app trips — before tolls, tips, taxes and surcharges — so it is not what the passenger paid in total. App driver_pay is TLC's 'total driver pay (not including tolls or tips and net of commission, surcharges, or taxes)'. Tips are separate. 'Per engaged hour' divides pay by passenger time only (pickup to drop-off). It leaves out time driving to pickups and waiting for requests, so real hourly earnings are lower; it is not the TLC minimum-pay formula. Monthly cells with 1–9 trips are shown as blank (null). Pairs with fewer than 10 trips are not listed.
