The Brooklyn Navy Yard zone (TLC zone 34) is small but has two very clear rush hours. In total it had 229,126 pickups from September 2025 to August 2026, about 628 a day, 57th of 61 in Brooklyn.

Aggregated by TLC Help from TLC trip records, Sep 2025 – Aug 2026 (pickup date; TLC publishes trip files about two months after the month ends and may revise them). 'App' = high-volume for-hire services (Uber, Lyft). Taxi records with a negative fare (reversals) are excluded. Averages, medians and rates use 'clean' trips only: 1 minute to 4 hours, more than 0 and under 150 miles, fare above $0 and under $1,000. 'Fare' is the metered fare_amount for taxis and base_passenger_fare for app trips — before tolls, tips, taxes and surcharges — so it is not what the passenger paid in total. App driver_pay is TLC's 'total driver pay (not including tolls or tips and net of commission, surcharges, or taxes)'. Tips are separate. 'Per engaged hour' divides pay by passenger time only (pickup to drop-off). It leaves out time driving to pickups and waiting for requests, so real hourly earnings are lower; it is not the TLC minimum-pay formula. Weekends: 3 a.m. pickups

Weekend nights flip the pattern. An average Saturday has about 996 pickups, nearly twice a weekday (about 508). Pickups on both weekend days peak at 3 a.m.: about 120 on Saturday and about 134 on Sunday, the busiest hour of the week. On Sunday, 45.5% of pickups happen between midnight and 5 a.m., the highest share in Brooklyn. Weekend drop-offs peak around 11 p.m. and midnight, so riders come in late and leave later.

Who serves the zone, and what it pays

App trips were 220,012 of the pickups, yellow taxis 8,508 (a 3.7% share, 6th in Brooklyn) and green cabs 606. Yellow taxis here pick up almost as many riders as they drop off (9,326). That is the closest balance of any Brooklyn zone.

Median app driver pay was $17.56 per trip on a 3.16-mile median trip. The pay per engaged hour, $64.95, was the best in Brooklyn, but it leaves out driving to pickups and waiting. Yellow fares had a median of $29.60, and 41.4% of yellow pickups paid the Congestion Relief Zone charge, which is collected on trips to or through Manhattan south of 60th Street (MTA).
