Hamilton Heights at a glance
On TLC's map the zone borders Washington Heights South (244) to the north, Manhattanville (152) to the south, and Central Harlem North (42) and Highbridge Park (120) to the east. TLC calls it a "Boro Zone" in its lookup table; that is a data label, not a legal boundary.
When rides start
Weekday pickups peak at 8 a.m. (about 247), with about 200 an hour at 7 and 9 a.m. The afternoon is flatter. Saturdays are the busiest days: about 4,009 pickups, against 3,208 on a weekday and 3,522 on a Sunday. Saturday pickups build to 11 p.m. (about 230), and Sunday's busiest hour is midnight (about 212).

Fares, tips and pay
| From zone 116 | Yellow taxi | Green cab | App |
|---|---|---|---|
| Median fare (before tips, tolls, fees) | $24.00 | $14.20 | $16.43 |
| Median miles | 5.0 | 2.6 | 2.89 |
| Tip rate | 8.0% (card trips) | 21.0% (card trips) | 4.1% |
| Charged the MTA congestion fee | 33.0% | 11.6% | 11.0% |
App pay is low here mostly because trips are short. The median driver pay of $14.32 compares with a $14.98 median for Manhattan's "Boro Zone" zones, and the average app tip is $0.88. Yellow taxi trips are a different market: much longer (5.0 miles) and a third of them heading into the congestion zone. Green cab trips are short and their card tips are high.

Aggregates of public data. They describe trips and vehicles, never individual people.
Aggregated by TLC Help from TLC trip records, Sep 2025 – Aug 2026 (pickup date; TLC publishes trip files about two months after the month ends and may revise them). 'App' = high-volume for-hire services (Uber, Lyft). Taxi records with a negative fare (reversals) are excluded. Averages, medians and rates use 'clean' trips only: 1 minute to 4 hours, more than 0 and under 150 miles, fare above $0 and under $1,000. 'Fare' is the metered fare_amount for taxis and base_passenger_fare for app trips — before tolls, tips, taxes and surcharges — so it is not what the passenger paid in total. App driver_pay is TLC's 'total driver pay (not including tolls or tips and net of commission, surcharges, or taxes)'. Tips are separate. 'Per engaged hour' divides pay by passenger time only (pickup to drop-off). It leaves out time driving to pickups and waiting for requests, so real hourly earnings are lower; it is not the TLC minimum-pay formula. Monthly cells with 1–9 trips are shown as blank (null). Pairs with fewer than 10 trips are not listed.
