'Fare' is the metered fare_amount for taxis and base_passenger_fare for app trips — before tolls, tips, taxes and surcharges — so it is not what the passenger paid in total. The relief stand on Rockaway Beach Boulevard

DOT's relief-stand data (vqu8-xef9, checked 2026-10-12) lists one stand in zone 117:

  • Rockaway Beach Boulevard, Beach 92nd to Beach 91st Street, south side: Taxi/FHV, 3 spaces, sign "Taxi/FHV Relief Stand 1 Hour Limit".

In DOT's words, relief stands "allow drivers to park and leave their vehicles for up to one hour", and they "are not taxi stands" (NYC DOT). TLC rule §80-19(d)(7) says you may take any open spot but must obey the posted vehicle types and time limit (Chapter 80). DOT says its map may not show every current sign, so read the sign. It is the only relief stand on the Rockaway Peninsula in DOT's data. More: relief stands and the relief stand finder.

Pickups here follow Hail Zone rules (Chapter 51); app drivers need a base booking (80-19(c)(1)). On trips off the peninsula over the Cross Bay or Marine Parkway bridges the passenger pays no toll; onto it, two times the toll (§58-26(f)(1)).
