Bedford Park (TLC zone 18) is one of the Bronx's busiest pickup zones: about 3,410 trips a day, 6th of 43 in the borough. From September 2025 to August 2026, 1,244,836 trips started here and 1,172,062 ended here. Trips are short and stay in the Bronx, so the median app pay per trip ($13.33) sits just below the Bronx middle. Demand runs from a strong weekday morning rush to a Sunday midnight peak.
Data: TLC's yellow, green and Uber/Lyft trip files, totalled for zone 18 by TLC Help. Direct black car and livery bookings are outside these files.
Bedford Park at a glance
TLC lists zone 18 in the Bronx with the data label "Boro Zone"; the label is for data, not law. Its neighbours on TLC's map are Norwood, Belmont, Fordham South, Kingsbridge Heights and Van Cortlandt Village.
From the morning rush to midnight
On weekdays, 8 a.m. is the top hour (about 271 pickups), followed by 7 a.m. (218) and 9 a.m. (207). Saturday is the busiest day overall, about 3,800 pickups against 3,385 on a weekday. Saturday pickups peak at 7 p.m. (228) and 8 p.m. (216). On Sunday the single busiest hour is midnight (about 169), as Saturday night runs on.
Drop-offs show the same late pattern even more: on Sundays, 22.2% of arrivals start between midnight and 5 a.m., and the top Saturday arrival hour is 11 p.m. (about 211).
September 2025 had the fewest pickups (89,476) and March 2026 the most (115,051). December 2025 was a close second (112,957).
Where trips go: the central Bronx
Bedford Park trips spread across neighbouring zones. The top destinations are the zone itself (8.0%), Norwood (7.5%), Van Cortlandt Village (5.2%), "Outside NYC" (4.9%, TLC zone 265), Belmont (4.4%) and Mount Hope (4.0%). No Manhattan zone makes the top 10, unlike Kingsbridge Heights next door, where Inwood is the second destination.
Fares and pay
The median app trip is 2.46 miles and 14.0 minutes, with a $15.20 fare and $13.33 driver pay (before tips and tolls). Pay per engaged hour ($60.63) is in the lower half of the Bronx. That hourly figure leaves out time between trips, so actual hourly earnings are lower. App riders tipped 1.3% of the fare, about $0.25 a trip.
Yellow cabs made 9,606 pickups (about 26 a day), with a median of 7.1 miles and $33.50 on the meter. The green cab row shows a $3 median fare next to a 5.96-mile median trip; treat that as a data quirk.
Rules and nearby curb space

Data on this page
Aggregates of public data. They describe trips and vehicles, never individual people.
Aggregated by TLC Help from TLC trip records, Sep 2025 – Aug 2026 (pickup date; TLC publishes trip files about two months after the month ends and may revise them). 'App' = high-volume for-hire services (Uber, Lyft). Taxi records with a negative fare (reversals) are excluded. Averages, medians and rates use 'clean' trips only: 1 minute to 4 hours, more than 0 and under 150 miles, fare above $0 and under $1,000. 'Fare' is the metered fare_amount for taxis and base_passenger_fare for app trips — before tolls, tips, taxes and surcharges — so it is not what the passenger paid in total. App driver_pay is TLC's 'total driver pay (not including tolls or tips and net of commission, surcharges, or taxes)'. Tips are separate. 'Per engaged hour' divides pay by passenger time only (pickup to drop-off). It leaves out time driving to pickups and waiting for requests, so real hourly earnings are lower; it is not the TLC minimum-pay formula. Monthly cells with 1–9 trips are shown as blank (null). Pairs with fewer than 10 trips are not listed.
