Fordham South (TLC zone 94) is a central Bronx zone of short, local trips with a strong night-time share. About 1,515 rides a day start here (552,841 from September 2025 to August 2026). Numbers on this page are from TLC's trip records for yellow cabs, green cabs and Uber/Lyft; livery and black car trips booked straight with a base are not counted.

'App' = high-volume for-hire services (Uber, Lyft). Taxi records with a negative fare (reversals) are excluded. Averages, medians and rates use 'clean' trips only: 1 minute to 4 hours, more than 0 and under 150 miles, fare above $0 and under $1,000. 'Fare' is the metered fare_amount for taxis and base_passenger_fare for app trips — before tolls, tips, taxes and surcharges — so it is not what the passenger paid in total. App driver_pay is TLC's 'total driver pay (not including tolls or tips and net of commission, surcharges, or taxes)'. Tips are separate. 'Per engaged hour' divides pay by passenger time only (pickup to drop-off). It leaves out time driving to pickups and waiting for requests, so real hourly earnings are lower; it is not the TLC minimum-pay formula. Fares and pay

The median app trip is 2.37 miles in 14.2 minutes, with a $15.18 fare and $13.30 driver pay (tips and tolls not included). Because trips are short and slow, pay per engaged hour is only $59.35, 38th of 42 Bronx zones, and that figure already leaves out waiting time. App riders tipped 1.1% of the fare, about $0.20 a trip.

Yellow cab trips from here are shorter than from Bedford Park or Belmont next door: median 5.92 miles and $28.50 on the meter.
