Bellerose (TLC zone 19) is an eastern Queens zone where almost a quarter of trips (23.2%) leave New York City. About 668 trips a day start here, with the busiest hours on weekday mornings, and Queens Village is the top destination inside the city. App trips here are quick for their length, so pay per engaged hour is 7th-best in Queens outside the airports.

Bellerose at a glance
On TLC's map, zone 19 borders four zones: Douglaston (64), Glen Oaks (101), Oakland Gardens (175) and Queens Village (191). Its "Boro Zone" label is a data category in TLC's lookup table, not a rule about where you can work.
Where trips go
Outside NYC (zone 265) is the largest single destination at 23.2%. TLC's data does not say where outside the city those trips end. In the city, Queens Village takes 10.9%, then trips inside Bellerose (8.2%), Glen Oaks (6.6%), Jamaica (3.9%) and Jamaica Estates (2.9%). JFK gets 2.8%. Manhattan barely appears: 1.7% of app pickups paid the congestion fee.
Queens Village is also the top origin for arrivals, sending 14.0% of drop-offs. Pickups outnumber drop-offs here (243,941 against 190,336), a ratio of 1.28, 3rd-highest in Queens.
Morning rush, afternoon weekends
Weekday pickups peak at 8 a.m. (about 64) and 7 a.m. (about 57). 28.5% of weekday pickups happen from 6 to 10 a.m., one of the highest morning shares in Queens. On weekends the peak moves to the afternoon: 3 p.m. on both Saturday (about 42) and Sunday (about 34). Drop-offs also start early: on weekdays they peak at 7 a.m. (about 42), an hour before the pickup peak, then again around 2 p.m.
Pickups ran from 17,976 in September 2025 to 21,944 in March 2026. Yellow taxi pickups dropped from about 350 to 450 a month before June 2026 to about 140 to 155 a month in June to August.
Fares and pay
App trips cover distance fast: a median 4.31 miles in 13.6 minutes, with an $18.59 fare and $15.57 driver pay (14th in Queens). That works out to $70.54 per engaged hour. Engaged time is only the time with a passenger, so it overstates what you earn per hour on the road. App riders tipped 3.3% of the fare.
Yellow taxis made 3,995 pickups, with a median trip of 10.26 miles and $36.50, and dropped off about twice as many riders here (8,131). Only 1.2% of yellow pickups went to an airport, and 2.8% paid the Congestion Relief Zone fee. If you drive a taxi or green cab, the refusal rule and the Rate #04 meter for Nassau and Westchester trips are explained in out-of-city taxi fares and 80-20(a)(1).
Pickup rules
Bellerose is in TLC's Hail Zone, so yellow and green cabs may take street hails. App drivers may only pick up trips their base dispatches (80-19(c)(1)). DOT's data lists no relief stand in or near the zone; the nearest is a taxi-only stand in Jackson Heights, nearly 8 miles west, and the nearest open to FHVs is in Woodside, about 8 miles away.

Data on this page
Aggregates of public data. They describe trips and vehicles, never individual people.
Aggregated by TLC Help from TLC trip records, Sep 2025 – Aug 2026 (pickup date; TLC publishes trip files about two months after the month ends and may revise them). 'App' = high-volume for-hire services (Uber, Lyft). Taxi records with a negative fare (reversals) are excluded. Averages, medians and rates use 'clean' trips only: 1 minute to 4 hours, more than 0 and under 150 miles, fare above $0 and under $1,000. 'Fare' is the metered fare_amount for taxis and base_passenger_fare for app trips — before tolls, tips, taxes and surcharges — so it is not what the passenger paid in total. App driver_pay is TLC's 'total driver pay (not including tolls or tips and net of commission, surcharges, or taxes)'. Tips are separate. 'Per engaged hour' divides pay by passenger time only (pickup to drop-off). It leaves out time driving to pickups and waiting for requests, so real hourly earnings are lower; it is not the TLC minimum-pay formula. Monthly cells with 1–9 trips are shown as blank (null). Pairs with fewer than 10 trips are not listed.
