TLC has two zones named "Corona" in Queens, and this page is about zone 57, the smaller one. About 189 rides a day start here, against about 2,320 in Corona zone 56. Zone 57 is a Saturday-night zone, its biggest link is to zone 56 next door, and it grew through the year: pickups were 32% higher in August 2026 than in September 2025.
Every figure below is TLC Help's count of TLC trip records (yellow, green and Uber/Lyft trips) for September 2025 to August 2026. Because the zone is small, hourly averages are low; look at the shape more than the exact values.
Which Corona is this?
If an app trip or pay statement says "Corona", check the zone number. TLC's lookup table lists Corona twice, as 56 and 57. On TLC's zone map, zone 57 touches only three zones: Corona 56, Flushing Meadows-Corona Park (93) and North Corona (173). Both carry the "Boro Zone" label, which groups data and is not a legal line (taxi zones explained).
When rides start
Saturday is the big day: about 241 pickups, against 210 on Sunday and 174 on a weekday. The top hour of the week is Saturday at 7 p.m. (about 15), and Saturday stays at about 12–15 an hour from 6 p.m. to midnight. On weekdays there is a small morning bump at 7–8 a.m. (about 13). Late nights matter here: 15.9% of the week's pickups and 21.9% of Sunday's start between midnight and 5 a.m.
Month by month: growing
Pickups were lowest in October 2025 (4,938) and February 2026 (4,946), then climbed through spring and summer: 6,260 in May, 6,372 in June, 6,377 in July and 7,008 in August 2026, the high of the year. Drop-offs grew too, from 4,134 in September 2025 to 5,888 in August 2026.
Where trips go
Corona zone 56 is the top destination (9.2%), followed by Flushing (8.3%), North Corona (7.3%), Elmhurst (6.6%) and Jackson Heights (5.9%). LaGuardia takes 3.6%. The link to zone 56 is even stronger on the way in: 15% of riders arriving in zone 57 started in zone 56.
Fares and pay
The median app trip is 2.83 miles and 12.8 minutes, with a $15.22 fare and $12.70 driver pay (50th of 67). Pay per engaged hour is $64.54 (25th), because trips are quick. Engaged time is only time with a rider, so it is not hourly earnings. Tips are low: 2.2% of the fare, about $0.46 a trip. Yellow taxis made 751 pickups all year.
Next to zone 56, app trips from zone 57 are a little longer (2.83 against 2.56 miles) but quicker (12.8 against 13.8 minutes). That helps explain why pay per engaged hour is higher here ($64.54 against $60.61), even though median pay per trip is slightly lower ($12.70 against $13.19). Riders in both Corona zones tip about the same, a bit over 2% of the fare.
Pickup rules here

- No relief stand appears in DOT's data for zone 57. Jackson Heights (Broadway, taxi only) is about 2 miles away and Woodside (64th Street, taxis and FHVs) about 2.3 miles (relief stands guide).

Data on this page
Aggregates of public data. They describe trips and vehicles, never individual people.
Aggregated by TLC Help from TLC trip records, Sep 2025 – Aug 2026 (pickup date; TLC publishes trip files about two months after the month ends and may revise them). 'App' = high-volume for-hire services (Uber, Lyft). Taxi records with a negative fare (reversals) are excluded. Averages, medians and rates use 'clean' trips only: 1 minute to 4 hours, more than 0 and under 150 miles, fare above $0 and under $1,000. 'Fare' is the metered fare_amount for taxis and base_passenger_fare for app trips — before tolls, tips, taxes and surcharges — so it is not what the passenger paid in total. App driver_pay is TLC's 'total driver pay (not including tolls or tips and net of commission, surcharges, or taxes)'. Tips are separate. 'Per engaged hour' divides pay by passenger time only (pickup to drop-off). It leaves out time driving to pickups and waiting for requests, so real hourly earnings are lower; it is not the TLC minimum-pay formula. Monthly cells with 1–9 trips are shown as blank (null). Pairs with fewer than 10 trips are not listed.
