Flushing Meadows-Corona Park (TLC zone 93) is a park and event zone, and its trip data swings with the seasons. Pickups ranged from 6,345 in February 2026 to 36,831 in August 2026. Far more trips end here than start here (346,827 drop-offs against 210,101 pickups). Trips that do start here are long, so app pay per trip is 2nd-highest in Queens outside the airports.
The figures come from TLC trip records for yellow taxis, green cabs and app trips, September 2025 to August 2026, totaled by TLC Help.
The park at a glance
Zone 93 is large and borders twelve zones on TLC's map, including Flushing (92), Corona (56 and 57), Forest Hills (95), Kew Gardens (134), Willets Point (253) and LaGuardia Airport (138). When we place Citi Field and the USTA tennis center on TLC's zone map, both fall inside zone 93, so trips to and from them count here. TLC calls the zone "Boro Zone", a data label only.
A seasonal zone
Pickups were lowest from December to March (6,345 to 9,614 a month) and highest in September 2025 (34,741) and August 2026 (36,831). Yellow taxi and green cab pickups jump in the same months: yellow went from 434 to 663 a month in October to March to 6,092 in September 2025 and 4,000 in August 2026.
Late pickups, daytime arrivals
Pickups happen late in the day. The weekday peak is 10 p.m. (about 79), Saturday's is 7 p.m. (about 85) and Sunday's is 5 p.m. (about 79). Very few trips start in the morning: 6 to 10 a.m. is only about 4% to 6% of pickups.
Drop-offs come earlier: Saturday peaks at 3 p.m. (about 128) and Sunday at noon (about 143). The data shows when trips happen, not which event or venue riders used.
Where trips go, and where they come from
Trips from the park spread out: Flushing 8.0%, outside NYC 7.0%, Forest Hills 4.0%, East Elmhurst 2.6% and only 2.3% inside the park. Arrivals are more surprising: JFK Airport is the top origin, sending 11.9% of all drop-offs, ahead of Flushing (5.7%).
Fares and pay
App trips from the park are the second-longest in Queens outside the airports, after Breezy Point/Fort Tilden/Riis Beach. The median app trip is 6.44 miles in 19.9 minutes, a $28.31 fare and $23.82 driver pay, and app riders tip 5.7% of the fare (average $2.32). Pay per engaged hour, $78.24, counts only time with a rider; real hourly earnings are lower once you add waiting and driving to the pickup.
Yellow taxis made 8.2% of pickups, 4th-highest in Queens. Their median trip was 9.68 miles and $49.57, card riders tipped 17.9%, and 32.3% paid the Manhattan congestion fee.
Pickup rules
The park zone is in TLC's Hail Zone (Chapter 51), so yellow and green cabs may take hails here. The neighboring LaGuardia zone is not: green cabs may not take hails at the airports. App drivers may only take trips their base sends (80-19(c)(1)). This page does not describe venue pickup areas: TLC Help has not found an official source for them, so follow posted signs and any instructions from police or traffic agents. DOT lists no relief stand in the zone. The nearest are a taxi-only stand on Broadway in Jackson Heights (about 2 miles from the zone's edge) and a taxi/FHV stand on 64th Street in Woodside (about 2.2 miles).

Data on this page
Aggregates of public data. They describe trips and vehicles, never individual people.
Aggregated by TLC Help from TLC trip records, Sep 2025 – Aug 2026 (pickup date; TLC publishes trip files about two months after the month ends and may revise them). 'App' = high-volume for-hire services (Uber, Lyft). Taxi records with a negative fare (reversals) are excluded. Averages, medians and rates use 'clean' trips only: 1 minute to 4 hours, more than 0 and under 150 miles, fare above $0 and under $1,000. 'Fare' is the metered fare_amount for taxis and base_passenger_fare for app trips — before tolls, tips, taxes and surcharges — so it is not what the passenger paid in total. App driver_pay is TLC's 'total driver pay (not including tolls or tips and net of commission, surcharges, or taxes)'. Tips are separate. 'Per engaged hour' divides pay by passenger time only (pickup to drop-off). It leaves out time driving to pickups and waiting for requests, so real hourly earnings are lower; it is not the TLC minimum-pay formula. Monthly cells with 1–9 trips are shown as blank (null). Pairs with fewer than 10 trips are not listed.

Frequently asked questions
How busy is Flushing Meadows-Corona Park for rides?
It depends on the month. Pickups ranged from 6,345 in February 2026 to 36,831 in August 2026, almost six times as many. Over the 12 months to August 2026 there were 210,101 pickups and 346,827 drop-offs.
Do app trips from the park pay well?
Yes, among the best in Queens outside the airports. Median app driver pay was $23.82 per trip (2nd of 67) and $78.24 per engaged hour (1st of 67). The median trip is 6.44 miles. Engaged hours count only time with a rider, so real hourly earnings are lower.
Are Citi Field and the tennis center in this zone?
Yes. When TLC Help placed the locations of Citi Field and the USTA tennis center on TLC's zone map, both fell inside zone 93. TLC's trip data does not say which trips went to which venue.
Why are there more drop-offs than pickups?
The data shows 1.65 drop-offs for every pickup, the most lopsided ratio in Queens. The trip data shows the gap but not the reason.
