East Flatbush/Farragut (TLC zone 71) is a commuter-shaped neighborhood zone. From September 2025 to August 2026, 1,113,516 trips started here (about 3,051 a day), 27th of 61 Brooklyn zones. The week's busiest hour is 8 a.m. on weekdays. Trips are short and stay close: the top ten destinations, including the zone itself, each take between 3% and 10% of pickups, and no single destination dominates.

Figures come from TLC trip records for yellow, green and high-volume app (Uber, Lyft) trips, aggregated by TLC Help. Black car and livery trips that are not app-dispatched are not included.

'App' = high-volume for-hire services (Uber, Lyft). Taxi records with a negative fare (reversals) are excluded. Averages, medians and rates use 'clean' trips only: 1 minute to 4 hours, more than 0 and under 150 miles, fare above $0 and under $1,000. 'Fare' is the metered fare_amount for taxis and base_passenger_fare for app trips — before tolls, tips, taxes and surcharges — so it is not what the passenger paid in total. App driver_pay is TLC's 'total driver pay (not including tolls or tips and net of commission, surcharges, or taxes)'. Tips are separate. 'Per engaged hour' divides pay by passenger time only (pickup to drop-off). It leaves out time driving to pickups and waiting for requests, so real hourly earnings are lower; it is not the TLC minimum-pay formula. Fares, trip length and driver pay

The median app trip is 2.19 miles and 13.6 minutes, with a $14.77 fare. The median driver pay is $12.24 before tips and tolls, 45th of 61 in Brooklyn. Tips are low, at 1.9% of fares and $0.37 a trip on average.

The map above uses another measure: pay per hour with a passenger on board, $56.28 here, 60th of 61 in Brooklyn. It ignores the time spent driving to pickups and waiting, so it is not hourly earnings and not TLC's minimum-pay formula. To check pay against the TLC minimum, use the pay estimator.

Only 2.0% of app pickups go to an airport and 2.6% into the Manhattan congestion zone. Yellow trips are a median 4.2 miles and $25.46 on the meter.
