All figures are from TLC trip records for yellow taxis, green cabs and high-volume app trips, totaled by TLC Help.
Queensboro Hill at a glance
Zone 192 has seven neighbors on TLC's map: Auburndale (9), East Flushing (73), Flushing (92), Flushing Meadows-Corona Park (93), Fresh Meadows (98), Hillcrest/Pomonok (121) and Kew Gardens Hills (135). TLC labels it "Boro Zone", a data category and not a legal line.
An early-morning zone
The weekday peak is 8 a.m. (about 72 pickups), with 7 a.m. close behind (about 70). Drop-offs also peak at 8 a.m. and are strong from 6 a.m. Sunday is unusual: its busiest pickup hour is 7 a.m. (about 52). No other Queens zone outside the airports has its Sunday peak between 5 and 10 a.m. On Saturdays the evening (7 p.m., about 57) and early morning (7 a.m., about 56) are almost tied.
Growing through the year
Monthly pickups went from 26,707 in September 2025 to 31,751 in August 2026, the highest month. Almost all of the change was app trips. Yellow taxi pickups went the other way, from 250 or more a month in January to May 2026 to about 133 to 150 a month in June to August 2026.
Where trips go
Flushing takes 14.9% of pickups, almost three times the next zone, Forest Hills (5.2%). Elmhurst (4.3%), Jackson Heights (3.2%), Murray Hill-Queens (3.1%) and Corona (3.1%) follow. Trips ending here also come mostly from Flushing (16.0% of drop-offs). Airports and Manhattan are minor: 4.0% of app pickups went to an airport, and 3.6% paid the Manhattan congestion fee.
Fares and pay
The median app trip is 3.65 miles in 14.0 minutes, with a $17.24 fare and $14.49 driver pay, close to the Queens middle ($14.12). Pay per engaged hour was $63.74. That measure counts only time with a passenger, so it is higher than real hourly earnings. App riders tipped 3.3% of the fare, an average of $0.72 a trip.
The few yellow trips run long: a median of 7.05 miles and $29.04 on the meter. Green cabs made only 157 pickups, too few for medians.
Taxis bring more riders in than they take out. Yellow cabs made 6,823 drop-offs here but only 2,900 pickups, and green cabs 541 drop-offs against 157 pickups. For app trips the two are close (335,537 drop-offs, 353,679 pickups). The gap means more taxi trips end here than begin here.

Data on this page
Aggregates of public data. They describe trips and vehicles, never individual people.
Aggregated by TLC Help from TLC trip records, Sep 2025 – Aug 2026 (pickup date; TLC publishes trip files about two months after the month ends and may revise them). 'App' = high-volume for-hire services (Uber, Lyft). Taxi records with a negative fare (reversals) are excluded. Averages, medians and rates use 'clean' trips only: 1 minute to 4 hours, more than 0 and under 150 miles, fare above $0 and under $1,000. 'Fare' is the metered fare_amount for taxis and base_passenger_fare for app trips — before tolls, tips, taxes and surcharges — so it is not what the passenger paid in total. App driver_pay is TLC's 'total driver pay (not including tolls or tips and net of commission, surcharges, or taxes)'. Tips are separate. 'Per engaged hour' divides pay by passenger time only (pickup to drop-off). It leaves out time driving to pickups and waiting for requests, so real hourly earnings are lower; it is not the TLC minimum-pay formula. Monthly cells with 1–9 trips are shown as blank (null). Pairs with fewer than 10 trips are not listed.
