Schuylerville/Edgewater Park (TLC zone 208) is the southeast corner of the Bronx where two MTA toll bridges to Queens begin. About 2,401 trips a day start here (876,210 in the 12 months to August 2026), 18th of 43 Bronx zones. Many rides are very local: 16.5% of trips end inside the zone, the highest share in the Bronx. App trips are longer than in most of the borough, so median driver pay ($14.57) is above the Bronx middle.
Of the pickups, 869,508 were app trips, 6,574 yellow taxi trips and 128 green cab trips. The counts are TLC Help's totals of TLC trip records, which do not include black car or livery trips booked outside the apps.
The zone at a glance
Zone 208 touches six zones on TLC's map: Country Club (58), Pelham Bay (183), Pelham Bay Park (184), Soundview/Castle Hill (213), Van Nest/Morris Park (242) and Westchester Village/Unionport (250). We checked the bridge locations against TLC's shapefile: the Bronx ends of the Throgs Neck Bridge and the Bronx-Whitestone Bridge both fall in this zone. TLC's "Boro Zone" label for it is a data category only.
When rides start
Weekday mornings are busiest: about 175 pickups at 7 a.m. and 184 at 8 a.m. Weekday drop-offs peak in the late afternoon instead, at 5 p.m. (about 169). Weekends run late. Saturday's top pickup hour is 11 p.m. (about 162), and Sunday's is midnight (154) followed by 1 a.m. (123). In all, 21.3% of Sunday pickups start between midnight and 5 a.m.

The top destination is zone 208 itself (16.5%). Then come Soundview/Castle Hill (6.6%), Van Nest/Morris Park (6.3%), "outside NYC" (4.7%) and Pelham Bay (4.2%). The incoming list mirrors it. Queens zones do not appear in the top ten, even with two bridges to Queens in the zone.
Fares, pay and tips
The median app trip is 4.0 miles, 13.4 minutes and $17.00 in fare, longer than in most of the Bronx. Median driver pay is $14.57, and pay per engaged hour is $66.54 (8th of 42 Bronx zones). App riders tip 2.6% of the fare ($0.56 a trip), and 1.8% of app pickups went to an airport, one of the higher shares in the borough. Bridges, tolls and pickup rules
- Tolls: as of 2026-10-12 (rates effective January 4, 2026), the Throgs Neck and Bronx-Whitestone bridges each charge a car $7.46 with NY E-ZPass, $9.79 at the Mid-Tier rate, or $12.03 by Tolls by Mail, per crossing (MTA). On a metered taxi trip, TLC says drivers must use an E-ZPass and the E-ZPass toll is added to the fare (TLC). See the Throgs Neck and Bronx-Whitestone pages, or price a route with the toll calculator.
- Hail Zone: zone 208 is in TLC's Hail Zone (Chapter 51). Yellow and green cabs may take hails; app drivers need a base dispatch (80-19(c)(1)).
- No stands: DOT lists no relief stand here (checked October 2026). The closest is the 2-space taxi/FHV stand on Metropolitan Avenue in Parkchester, about 0.9 miles from the zone's edge.

Data on this page
Aggregates of public data. They describe trips and vehicles, never individual people.
Aggregated by TLC Help from TLC trip records, Sep 2025 – Aug 2026 (pickup date; TLC publishes trip files about two months after the month ends and may revise them). 'App' = high-volume for-hire services (Uber, Lyft). Taxi records with a negative fare (reversals) are excluded. Averages, medians and rates use 'clean' trips only: 1 minute to 4 hours, more than 0 and under 150 miles, fare above $0 and under $1,000. 'Fare' is the metered fare_amount for taxis and base_passenger_fare for app trips — before tolls, tips, taxes and surcharges — so it is not what the passenger paid in total. App driver_pay is TLC's 'total driver pay (not including tolls or tips and net of commission, surcharges, or taxes)'. Tips are separate. 'Per engaged hour' divides pay by passenger time only (pickup to drop-off). It leaves out time driving to pickups and waiting for requests, so real hourly earnings are lower; it is not the TLC minimum-pay formula. Monthly cells with 1–9 trips are shown as blank (null). Pairs with fewer than 10 trips are not listed.
