Green-Wood Cemetery (TLC zone 111) is the quietest zone in Brooklyn. From September 2025 to August 2026, only 10,483 trips started here, about 29 a day, and 12,852 ended here. Almost all were app trips (98.6%). Pickups are most likely on weekend afternoons and in late spring. Trips go mainly to Park Slope and the two Sunset Park zones.

The figures come from TLC trip records for yellow, green and high-volume app (Uber, Lyft) trips, aggregated by TLC Help. With so few trips, small changes move the percentages a lot. Read the numbers as a rough guide.

Source: NYC TLC Trip Record Data (yellow, green, high-volume FHV), Sep 2025 – Aug 2026 · Data as of Oct 12, 2026. Aggregated by TLC Help from TLC trip records, Sep 2025 – Aug 2026 (pickup date; TLC publishes trip files about two months after the month ends and may revise them). 'App' = high-volume for-hire services (Uber, Lyft). Taxi records with a negative fare (reversals) are excluded. Averages, medians and rates use 'clean' trips only: 1 minute to 4 hours, more than 0 and under 150 miles, fare above $0 and under $1,000. 'Fare' is the metered fare_amount for taxis and base_passenger_fare for app trips — before tolls, tips, taxes and surcharges — so it is not what the passenger paid in total. App driver_pay is TLC's 'total driver pay (not including tolls or tips and net of commission, surcharges, or taxes)'. Tips are separate. 'Per engaged hour' divides pay by passenger time only (pickup to drop-off). It leaves out time driving to pickups and waiting for requests, so real hourly earnings are lower; it is not the TLC minimum-pay formula. Medians/rates need ≥250 trips (else null). labels are LocationIDs as strings; zones[] has names, boroughs, service_zone (from taxi_zone_lookup.csv), suggested slugs and neighbouring zone ids (shared boundary, from taxi_zones.zip).

Zone 111 at a glance

TLC's lookup table lists zone 111 as a Brooklyn "Boro Zone", a data label with no legal meaning. On TLC's map it touches five zones: Borough Park, Kensington, Sunset Park East, Sunset Park West and Windsor Terrace.

The sector split is lopsided. App services made 10,340 pickups. Yellow cabs made 142 for the whole year, fewer than one every two days. Green cabs recorded one. Because counts of 1 to 9 are hidden in TLC Help's datasets, the green cells in the table and month chart are blank or zero.

When rides start

There is no rush hour here in the usual sense. On weekdays, every hour averages 2 pickups or fewer. Weekends are busier: about 40 pickups on a Saturday and 34 on a Sunday, against about 25 on a weekday. On both weekend days, the afternoon from about 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. is the busiest stretch. Even then it is under 3 pickups an hour on average.

If you are waiting for a request here, the chart below shows why the wait can be long at most hours.

Only the app figures pass the 250-trip minimum for medians. The median app trip is 2.45 miles and 13.9 minutes, with a $16.71 fare. The median driver pay is $13.01 before tips and tolls. Riders tip fairly well: 6.6% of fares and $1.48 a trip on average, tied for 4th highest in Brooklyn by rate.

1.8% of app pickups went to an airport, and 6.9% were charged the Manhattan congestion fee. Yellow medians are blank because there were only 142 yellow pickups.

Pickup rules and stands

Zone 111 is in TLC's Hail Zone, like all of Brooklyn. A yellow or green cab may take a hail here. An app or other for-hire driver may only pick up a rider dispatched by the base (80-19(c)(1), Chapter 80). We found no official TLC or DOT source for special pickup rules at this location, so normal street and parking rules apply. See who can pick up where. This is general information, not legal advice.

Stands: DOT's data lists no relief stand, taxi stand or taxi/FHV pickup zone in zone 111 (checked October 12, 2026).
