Inwood Hill Park (TLC zone 128) is one of Manhattan's quietest taxi zones, and more rides end here than start here. From September 2025 to August 2026 it had 77,640 pickups (about 213 a day) and 95,261 drop-offs. Drop-offs peak at 6 a.m., while pickups peak in the evening. Almost all pickups (97%) were Uber or Lyft trips.
These counts come from TLC's trip records for yellow, green and Uber/Lyft trips, totalled by TLC Help. Yellow pickups here are only about 6 a day, so the taxi medians rest on a small number of trips.
Inwood Hill Park at a glance
The zone takes its name from Inwood Hill Park at the northern tip of Manhattan. It borders Inwood (127), Washington Heights North (243) and, in the Bronx, Spuyten Duyvil/Kingsbridge (220). Dyckman Street forms part of its southern edge. TLC's lookup table labels it "Boro Zone", a data category rather than a legal line.
In the city's street centerline file, the Manhattan end of the Henry Hudson Bridge lies inside this zone. As of October 12, 2026 the bridge costs a car $3.42 with a New York E-ZPass, $5.42 Mid-Tier and $8.87 by mail. On a TLC trip the passenger pays the toll. See the Henry Hudson Bridge page for the rules.
When rides start and end
Pickups are spread thinly through the day and peak at 7 p.m. on weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays (14 to 17 an hour). A second bump comes late on weekdays at 11 p.m. Each day type averages a similar number of pickups, about 200 to 220.
Drop-offs tell a different story. On an average weekday about 32 trips end in the 6 a.m. hour, far more than at 7 a.m. (about 21) or any later hour. Saturdays and Sundays show the same early peak, at about 23. The data shows when these trips happen, not who takes them or why.
A flat year
Monthly pickups stayed between 5,898 (November 2025) and 6,783 (August 2026). August was the busiest month here, while Manhattan overall had its second-lowest month in August.
Where trips go: split between Manhattan and the Bronx
The top destinations are Washington Heights South (8.1%), Inwood (7.8%), Spuyten Duyvil/Kingsbridge (7.3%) and Washington Heights North (6.8%). Among the top ten, Bronx zones take 23.7% of pickups and Manhattan zones 22.7%, an even split. 4.9% of trips end outside the city.
Fares, tips and app pay
App trips from here are longer than in most of upper Manhattan: a median of 3.62 miles and 15.9 minutes, with an $18.83 fare. The median app driver pay is $16.08 per trip, above the $14.98 median for Manhattan's 14 "Boro Zone" zones (pay excludes tips and tolls). Yellow taxi trips are few (about 6 a day) but long: a median of 7.9 miles and $30.96 on the meter. About a quarter of them (26.2%) were charged the Congestion Relief Zone fee, so many head south to Midtown or below. Only 8.4% of app pickups were charged it.

- For-hire pickup sign: DOT's parking-sign data (updated October 11, 2026) lists a "For-Hire Vehicles Only 3PM-1AM All Days" sign on the north side of Dyckman Street between Payson Avenue and the Henry Hudson Parkway, on this zone's edge. Read the posted sign before you stop.
- Stands: DOT lists no taxi relief stand in this zone. The nearest ones in its data are on Dyckman Street in the Inwood and Washington Heights North zones.

Data on this page
Aggregates of public data. They describe trips and vehicles, never individual people.
Aggregated by TLC Help from TLC trip records, Sep 2025 – Aug 2026 (pickup date; TLC publishes trip files about two months after the month ends and may revise them). 'App' = high-volume for-hire services (Uber, Lyft). Taxi records with a negative fare (reversals) are excluded. Averages, medians and rates use 'clean' trips only: 1 minute to 4 hours, more than 0 and under 150 miles, fare above $0 and under $1,000. 'Fare' is the metered fare_amount for taxis and base_passenger_fare for app trips — before tolls, tips, taxes and surcharges — so it is not what the passenger paid in total. App driver_pay is TLC's 'total driver pay (not including tolls or tips and net of commission, surcharges, or taxes)'. Tips are separate. 'Per engaged hour' divides pay by passenger time only (pickup to drop-off). It leaves out time driving to pickups and waiting for requests, so real hourly earnings are lower; it is not the TLC minimum-pay formula. Monthly cells with 1–9 trips are shown as blank (null). Pairs with fewer than 10 trips are not listed.
