Marble Hill (TLC zone 153) counts as Manhattan in TLC's data, but its rides behave like the Bronx. In the 12 months from September 2025 to August 2026, 246,578 trips started here (about 676 a day), and 99% of them were Uber or Lyft trips. The most common destinations are nearby Bronx zones, trips are short, and the app driver pay per trip is the lowest of any Manhattan zone.
All figures come from TLC trip records for yellow taxis, green cabs and high-volume app trips (Uber, Lyft), counted by TLC Help. Black car and livery trips that are not dispatched by an app company are not in these numbers.
Marble Hill at a glance
TLC's lookup table puts zone 153 in Manhattan and labels it "Boro Zone". That label is only a category in TLC's data, not a legal boundary. On TLC's zone map, Marble Hill touches just two zones, and both are in the Bronx: Spuyten Duyvil/Kingsbridge (220) and Kingsbridge Heights (136). The city's street centerline file places the Broadway Bridge partly inside this zone.
When rides start here
Marble Hill is busy all week, with no sharp rush hour. On weekdays pickups build through the day and peak at 6 p.m. (about 48 an hour), with a smaller morning bump at 8 a.m. Saturdays are the busiest days, with about 771 pickups, and the day stays flat from mid-afternoon to 8 p.m. Late nights are quiet: only 5.2% of weekday pickups start between midnight and 5 a.m.
Drop-offs follow a different clock. On weekdays they peak at 8 a.m. and again at 5 p.m. More trips start here than end here: 246,578 pickups against 200,418 drop-offs. The trip records do not say why.
A steady year
Pickups were lowest in September 2025 (17,946) and highest in December 2025 (23,426). August 2026 (20,579) was about 15% above September 2025. Manhattan as a whole went the other way: its pickups fell about 9% between those two months.
Where trips go: north into the Bronx
The top destination is Van Cortlandt Village (11.3%), a Bronx zone. Next come Inwood (9.0%), Spuyten Duyvil/Kingsbridge (8.0%) and Kingsbridge Heights (6.5%). 5.4% of trips end outside New York City. Trips into Midtown are rare: only 2.8% of app pickups were charged the Congestion Relief Zone fee, the lowest share in Manhattan. Airport trips are also rare (0.8% of app pickups).
Trips into Marble Hill come from the same places. Spuyten Duyvil/Kingsbridge (10.6%) and Van Cortlandt Village (10.2%) are the top origins.
Fares and pay: short app trips, rare long taxi trips
The median app trip from here is 2.17 miles and 12.7 minutes, with a median fare of $14.24 before tips, tolls and fees. The median driver pay is $12.19 per trip, the lowest of any Manhattan zone. The median for Manhattan's 14 "Boro Zone" zones is $14.98. App riders tip little here: tips came to 2.1% of fares, also the lowest in the borough.
Yellow taxi pickups are rare (about 6 a day), but they are long. The median yellow trip from here is 5.7 miles and costs $27.15 on the meter.
Pickup rules in Marble Hill
- Green cabs: the Hail Exclusionary Zone is "Manhattan south of East 96th St. and West 110th St." plus the airports (Chapter 51). Marble Hill is far north of that line, so green cabs may take street hails here. Green cabs had only 72 pickups in the year.
- App and other for-hire drivers: street hails are still illegal for you. A for-hire vehicle may only pick up trips pre-arranged through its base (80-19(c)(1)). The higher Manhattan penalties in 80-19(c)(2) apply only south of East 96th and West 110th Streets.
- Congestion charges: the NYS congestion surcharge area starts below 96th Street and the MTA zone at 60th Street, so a trip that stays up here pays neither.
Stands: DOT's relief-stand dataset (updated October 1, 2026) and its parking-sign data (updated October 11, 2026) list no relief stand and no taxi-stand sign in this zone. See where taxi relief stands are.

Aggregates of public data. They describe trips and vehicles, never individual people.
Aggregated by TLC Help from TLC trip records, Sep 2025 – Aug 2026 (pickup date; TLC publishes trip files about two months after the month ends and may revise them). 'App' = high-volume for-hire services (Uber, Lyft). Taxi records with a negative fare (reversals) are excluded. Averages, medians and rates use 'clean' trips only: 1 minute to 4 hours, more than 0 and under 150 miles, fare above $0 and under $1,000. 'Fare' is the metered fare_amount for taxis and base_passenger_fare for app trips — before tolls, tips, taxes and surcharges — so it is not what the passenger paid in total. App driver_pay is TLC's 'total driver pay (not including tolls or tips and net of commission, surcharges, or taxes)'. Tips are separate. 'Per engaged hour' divides pay by passenger time only (pickup to drop-off). It leaves out time driving to pickups and waiting for requests, so real hourly earnings are lower; it is not the TLC minimum-pay formula. Monthly cells with 1–9 trips are shown as blank (null). Pairs with fewer than 10 trips are not listed.
