Marine Park/Mill Basin (TLC zone 155) is an afternoon-and-evening zone. In the 12 months to August 2026, 729,290 trips started here, about 1,998 a day. Unlike Flatlands and Madison next door, where 8 a.m. leads, the busiest pickup hour here is 5 p.m., on Saturdays and on weekdays. The numbers are from TLC trip records for yellow taxis, green cabs and high-volume app services (Uber, Lyft), September 2025 to August 2026, added up by TLC Help. Black car and livery trips that are not high-volume are not covered.

Aggregated by TLC Help from TLC trip records, Sep 2025 – Aug 2026 (pickup date; TLC publishes trip files about two months after the month ends and may revise them). 'App' = high-volume for-hire services (Uber, Lyft). Taxi records with a negative fare (reversals) are excluded. Averages, medians and rates use 'clean' trips only: 1 minute to 4 hours, more than 0 and under 150 miles, fare above $0 and under $1,000. 'Fare' is the metered fare_amount for taxis and base_passenger_fare for app trips — before tolls, tips, taxes and surcharges — so it is not what the passenger paid in total. App driver_pay is TLC's 'total driver pay (not including tolls or tips and net of commission, surcharges, or taxes)'. Tips are separate. 'Per engaged hour' divides pay by passenger time only (pickup to drop-off). It leaves out time driving to pickups and waiting for requests, so real hourly earnings are lower; it is not the TLC minimum-pay formula. When rides start and end

Weekdays (about 2,039 pickups) have a morning bump at 8 a.m. (about 138), but the afternoon is just as strong: 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. runs at about 121–141 an hour, peaking at 5 p.m. (about 141).

Saturday is the same size as a weekday (about 2,047 pickups) and builds all afternoon. The 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. hours (about 142–143) are the busiest of the whole week. Sunday (about 1,741) peaks at 7 p.m.

Saturday drop-offs peak earlier, from noon to 3 p.m. (about 140 an hour). Riders arrive midday and leave in the evening.

Overnight work is thin here: only about 5.5% of the week's pickups happen between midnight and 5 a.m., third-lowest in Brooklyn.

Month by month

December 2025 was the top month (69,926 pickups); September 2025 was the low (51,252). From January to August 2026 the count stayed in a narrow band, about 58,000 to 65,700 a month, with no summer slump.

Yellow pickups were about 790 to 1,260 a month until May 2026, then 255–336 a month from June to August. App trips did not fall the same way, and the records don't explain it.

Fares, trip length and driver pay

The median app trip is 2.79 miles and 15.2 minutes. The median fare is $17.04 and the median driver pay $14.33 before tips and tolls, both a little above the Brooklyn middle. Tips are 3.0% of fares, $0.66 on average.

These trips stay local. Only 2.0% of app pickups were charged the Manhattan toll-zone fee (tied with Flatlands for 53rd of 61), and 2.5% went to an airport. Yellow trips have a $25.50 median fare over 4.5 miles. The green cab median fare in the table ($3 over 3.71 miles) does not fit metered rates, so treat it with caution.
