Maspeth (TLC zone 157) is two different zones depending on the day. On weekdays it is a modest commuter zone that peaks at 8 a.m. On weekends it becomes a late-night pickup zone: the busiest hour of the week is Sunday at 4 a.m. (about 302 pickups), and 31.5% of Sunday pickups happen between midnight and 5 a.m., the highest share in Queens. Overall, about 2,426 trips a day start here.

Maspeth at a glance
On TLC's map, zone 157 has seven neighbors, one of them in Brooklyn: East Williamsburg (80), Elmhurst (82), Elmhurst/Maspeth (83), Middle Village (160), Ridgewood (198), Sunnyside (226) and Woodside (260). Its "Boro Zone" label is a TLC data category only.
Weekend nights, weekday mornings
An average Saturday has about 3,567 pickups and a Sunday about 3,461, against 1,992 on a weekday. Most of the extra weekend trips come late at night:
- Arrivals build in the evening: Saturday drop-offs peak at 11 p.m. (about 389) and Sunday's at midnight (about 393). 36.2% of Sunday drop-offs happen between midnight and 5 a.m.
- Departures come hours later: pickups peak at 3 to 5 a.m. on both weekend days (Saturday 4 a.m. about 275, Sunday 4 a.m. about 302).
- On weekdays the pattern is ordinary: pickups peak at 8 a.m. (about 159) and 7 a.m. (about 146), and only 7.7% happen between midnight and 5 a.m.
TLC's data shows the timing, not where riders were. On both weekend nights there are about four to five hours between the drop-off peak and the pickup peak.
Month by month
Pickups were lowest in January 2026 (64,232) and highest in May 2026 (83,159).
Where trips go
Elmhurst leads with 8.7%, then Maspeth itself (6.5%), Woodside (6.1%) and Ridgewood (4.8%). Three Brooklyn zones are in the top ten: Bushwick North (4.0%), East Williamsburg (3.7%) and Bushwick South (3.0%). They matter even more for arrivals, where Bushwick North (5.3%) is the 4th-biggest source. Airports hardly figure: only 2.0% of app pickups go to one, 66th of 67 in Queens.
Fares and pay
The median app trip is 2.85 miles in 14.3 minutes, with a $17.07 fare and $14.12 driver pay, exactly the Queens middle. Pay per engaged hour is $61.75, which counts passenger time only. App riders tipped 3.6% of the fare.
Manhattan is a bigger share here than in most of Queens: 10.4% of app pickups paid the Congestion Relief Zone fee (8th in Queens), and about a quarter of yellow (24.3%) and green (25.9%) pickups did.
Pickup rules
Maspeth is in TLC's Hail Zone (Chapter 51), so yellow and green cabs may take hails. App and other FHV drivers may only pick up trips dispatched by their base (80-19(c)(1)). DOT lists no relief stand in the zone. The closest in its data, about 0.9 miles from the zone's edge in a straight line, is a 4-space taxi-only stand on Broadway between 72nd and 73rd Streets in Jackson Heights. The closest one open to FHVs is a 3-space stand on 64th Street between 34th and 35th Avenues in Woodside, about 1.1 miles away. The relief stand guide explains the rules.

Data on this page
Aggregates of public data. They describe trips and vehicles, never individual people.
Aggregated by TLC Help from TLC trip records, Sep 2025 – Aug 2026 (pickup date; TLC publishes trip files about two months after the month ends and may revise them). 'App' = high-volume for-hire services (Uber, Lyft). Taxi records with a negative fare (reversals) are excluded. Averages, medians and rates use 'clean' trips only: 1 minute to 4 hours, more than 0 and under 150 miles, fare above $0 and under $1,000. 'Fare' is the metered fare_amount for taxis and base_passenger_fare for app trips — before tolls, tips, taxes and surcharges — so it is not what the passenger paid in total. App driver_pay is TLC's 'total driver pay (not including tolls or tips and net of commission, surcharges, or taxes)'. Tips are separate. 'Per engaged hour' divides pay by passenger time only (pickup to drop-off). It leaves out time driving to pickups and waiting for requests, so real hourly earnings are lower; it is not the TLC minimum-pay formula. Monthly cells with 1–9 trips are shown as blank (null). Pairs with fewer than 10 trips are not listed.
