The Seaport (TLC zone 209) is a small zone with long trips and a strong airport link. It had 628,754 pickups in the 12 months to August 2026, about 1,723 a day. LaGuardia is its 4th most common destination and its 2nd biggest source of arriving riders. The busiest time is Saturday night, and the quietest stretch of the year was January–February 2026.
Zone 209 at a glance
The TLC lookup table labels zone 209 "Yellow Zone", a way to group the data, not a legal area. It touches four zones: Financial District North, World Trade Center, TriBeCa/Civic Center and Chinatown. The city's street centerline map puts part of the FDR Drive and Brooklyn Bridge ramps inside it.
When rides start and end here
Pickups and drop-offs both peak late in the day. On weekdays the top pickup hour is 9 p.m. (121), and drop-offs are also highest at 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. Saturday is 50% busier than a weekday (2,365 pickups against 1,577), with the top hour at 10 p.m. (189). Sunday's busiest hour is midnight, the end of Saturday night, and 29.4% of Sunday pickups happen between midnight and 5 a.m.
A winter low
October 2025 was the busiest month (60,359 pickups). January (47,212) and February 2026 (44,652) were the slowest; February was 26% below October. Pickups recovered to about 53,000–56,000 in May and June. One year of data can't show if this repeats each winter.

"Outside NYC" is the top destination (4.7% of pickups), then TriBeCa/Civic Center (3.7%), Lower East Side (3.6%) and LaGuardia Airport (3.3%). JFK (2.4%) and Newark (2.1%) are also in the top ten. On the arrival side, LaGuardia is second only to TriBeCa/Civic Center (4.0% of drop-offs against 4.6%).

- Brooklyn Bridge. Bridge ramps are in this zone; for charges on bridge trips, see East River bridges and the congestion zone.
- 20 mph slow zone. All of zone 209 is south of Canal Street, so it is inside NYC DOT's Lower Manhattan Regional Slow Zone.

Data on this page
Aggregates of public data. They describe trips and vehicles, never individual people.
Aggregated by TLC Help from TLC trip records, Sep 2025 – Aug 2026 (pickup date; TLC publishes trip files about two months after the month ends and may revise them). 'App' = high-volume for-hire services (Uber, Lyft). Taxi records with a negative fare (reversals) are excluded. Averages, medians and rates use 'clean' trips only: 1 minute to 4 hours, more than 0 and under 150 miles, fare above $0 and under $1,000. 'Fare' is the metered fare_amount for taxis and base_passenger_fare for app trips — before tolls, tips, taxes and surcharges — so it is not what the passenger paid in total. App driver_pay is TLC's 'total driver pay (not including tolls or tips and net of commission, surcharges, or taxes)'. Tips are separate. 'Per engaged hour' divides pay by passenger time only (pickup to drop-off). It leaves out time driving to pickups and waiting for requests, so real hourly earnings are lower; it is not the TLC minimum-pay formula. Monthly cells with 1–9 trips are shown as blank (null). Pairs with fewer than 10 trips are not listed.
