Forest Hills, Glendale, JFK and Jamaica each take 3–4%. Sectors and pay
Woodhaven is an average Queens zone for app pay. Its 836,075 app pickups (98.7%, next to 10,577 yellow and 218 green) had a median of 2.97 miles, 15.1 minutes, a $17.00 fare and $14.38 for the driver before tips, close to the Queens middle of $14.20. Riders tipped 2% of the fare ($0.42 on average). Pay per engaged hour was $60.28; it leaves out time spent waiting and driving to pickups.
The median yellow trip was 5.6 miles and $27.50. Yellow pickups peaked at 1,219 in January 2026 and were under 510 a month in June to August. Green cabs are rare here: 218 pickups in a year, too few for fare or tip medians, which is why the green column in the table is mostly blank.
The Woodhaven Boulevard taxi-stand sign
DOT's current parking-sign records (nfid-uabd, checked 2026-10-12) show a "Taxi Stand" sign on Woodhaven Boulevard between 86th Drive and Jamaica Avenue. One sign record does not tell you how long the stand is or its hours, so read the posted sign. No relief stand was in zone 258 in DOT's relief-stand data. What TLC rules say about stands (Chapter 80, §80-19(d)):
- Yellow taxis may take any open spot. Green cabs may too, since Woodhaven is in the Hail Zone.
- Join at the back of the line and don't overcrowd the stand (§80-19(d)(4)).
- Uber, Lyft and other FHV drivers must not pick up at a taxi stand: $350 for a first violation (80-19(d)(2)).
Away from the stand, FHV drivers still need a base booking for every pickup (80-19(c)(1)). Full details: taxi stand rules.

Data on this page
Aggregates of public data. They describe trips and vehicles, never individual people.
Aggregated by TLC Help from TLC trip records, Sep 2025 – Aug 2026 (pickup date; TLC publishes trip files about two months after the month ends and may revise them). 'App' = high-volume for-hire services (Uber, Lyft). Taxi records with a negative fare (reversals) are excluded. Averages, medians and rates use 'clean' trips only: 1 minute to 4 hours, more than 0 and under 150 miles, fare above $0 and under $1,000. 'Fare' is the metered fare_amount for taxis and base_passenger_fare for app trips — before tolls, tips, taxes and surcharges — so it is not what the passenger paid in total. App driver_pay is TLC's 'total driver pay (not including tolls or tips and net of commission, surcharges, or taxes)'. Tips are separate. 'Per engaged hour' divides pay by passenger time only (pickup to drop-off). It leaves out time driving to pickups and waiting for requests, so real hourly earnings are lower; it is not the TLC minimum-pay formula. Monthly cells with 1–9 trips are shown as blank (null). Pairs with fewer than 10 trips are not listed.
