Claremont/Bathgate (TLC zone 47) is a mid-sized Bronx zone with early mornings and very short trips. In the 12 months to August 2026, 873,126 trips started here, about 2,392 a day, which puts it 20th of 43 Bronx zones. The median app trip is just 2.21 miles, and the median driver pay is $12.66, among the lowest in the borough.
App trips account for 864,444 of the pickups; yellow taxis made 8,411 and green cabs 271. TLC Help counted these from TLC's trip files. Livery and black car trips that no high-volume app dispatched are missing, so the totals cover app and taxi trips only.
Claremont/Bathgate at a glance
Zone 47 sits in the middle of the west Bronx and has seven neighbors on TLC's map: Belmont (20), Crotona Park (59), East Concourse/Concourse Village (69), East Tremont (78), Fordham South (94), Morrisania/Melrose (167) and Mount Hope (169). TLC's lookup table calls it a "Boro Zone". That is a data category, not a legal area.
An early-morning zone
Mornings start early here. On weekdays, drop-offs peak at 7 a.m. (about 191) and pickups peak at 8 a.m. (about 202), with 7 a.m. close behind (170). A quarter of all weekday pickups (25.3%) happen between 6 and 10 a.m. The afternoon is flatter; the biggest afternoon hour is 4 p.m., with about 153 pickups.
Weekends spread out. Saturday's top hours are 11 p.m. (130), 3 p.m. (129) and 10 p.m. (128), almost equal. Sunday's busiest is midnight (124), then 3 p.m.

Where trips go
Most trips head to nearby zones to the north, south and west. The top destinations are Mount Hope (6.2%), East Concourse/Concourse Village (6.0%), West Concourse (5.6%) and Melrose South (5.5%). Only 4.4% stay inside zone 47. No Manhattan zone and no "outside NYC" appears in the top ten.
Fares and pay: short trips, low medians
The median app trip is 2.21 miles, 13.5 minutes and $14.47 in fare. Median driver pay is $12.66 per trip, before tips and tolls. Only three of the 42 Bronx zones with enough trips have a lower median. Pay per engaged hour ($59.23) and the app tip rate (1.1% of the fare, about $0.20 a trip) are also near the bottom for the Bronx. Engaged hours count only time with a passenger, so they are not hourly earnings. For how TLC's minimum pay works, see the pay estimator.
Yellow trips from here are longer: a median of 5.64 miles and $29.50. Just 0.7% of app pickups went to an airport.
Pickup rules
- Zone 47 is inside TLC's Hail Zone (Chapter 51). Yellow and green cabs may take street hails.
- App drivers may pick up only through their base (80-19(c)(1)).
- 2.5% of app pickups paid the MTA Congestion Relief Zone fee. Those trips went into Manhattan at or below 60th Street; the fee is not charged for trips that stay in the Bronx.
- DOT's relief-stand and parking-sign data (checked October 2026) show no relief stand and no taxi-stand sign in this zone. The closest listed stand is a 3-space taxi/FHV relief stand on Webster Avenue between East Fordham Road and Bedford Park Boulevard, about 0.14 miles (straight line) beyond the zone's edge, in Belmont.

Data on this page
Aggregates of public data. They describe trips and vehicles, never individual people.
Aggregated by TLC Help from TLC trip records, Sep 2025 – Aug 2026 (pickup date; TLC publishes trip files about two months after the month ends and may revise them). 'App' = high-volume for-hire services (Uber, Lyft). Taxi records with a negative fare (reversals) are excluded. Averages, medians and rates use 'clean' trips only: 1 minute to 4 hours, more than 0 and under 150 miles, fare above $0 and under $1,000. 'Fare' is the metered fare_amount for taxis and base_passenger_fare for app trips — before tolls, tips, taxes and surcharges — so it is not what the passenger paid in total. App driver_pay is TLC's 'total driver pay (not including tolls or tips and net of commission, surcharges, or taxes)'. Tips are separate. 'Per engaged hour' divides pay by passenger time only (pickup to drop-off). It leaves out time driving to pickups and waiting for requests, so real hourly earnings are lower; it is not the TLC minimum-pay formula. Monthly cells with 1–9 trips are shown as blank (null). Pairs with fewer than 10 trips are not listed.
