Manhattan Beach (TLC zone 150) is a small Brooklyn zone, not part of Manhattan, and its busiest time is late at night. In the 12 months to August 2026, 281,105 trips started here, about 770 a day, and 322,695 ended here, about 15% more. The single busiest pickup hour of the week is midnight at the end of Saturday. Most riders who leave go to Sheepshead Bay or Brighton Beach.

These are TLC trip records for yellow taxis, green cabs and high-volume app services (Uber, Lyft), September 2025 to August 2026, added up by TLC Help. Black car and livery trips that are not high-volume are not part of the count.

'App' = high-volume for-hire services (Uber, Lyft). Taxi records with a negative fare (reversals) are excluded. Averages, medians and rates use 'clean' trips only: 1 minute to 4 hours, more than 0 and under 150 miles, fare above $0 and under $1,000. 'Fare' is the metered fare_amount for taxis and base_passenger_fare for app trips — before tolls, tips, taxes and surcharges — so it is not what the passenger paid in total. App driver_pay is TLC's 'total driver pay (not including tolls or tips and net of commission, surcharges, or taxes)'. Tips are separate. 'Per engaged hour' divides pay by passenger time only (pickup to drop-off). It leaves out time driving to pickups and waiting for requests, so real hourly earnings are lower; it is not the TLC minimum-pay formula. Month by month

Manhattan Beach is steadier through the year than most Brooklyn zones. March 2026 was the top month (25,342 pickups) and May was close (25,237). September 2025 was the low (20,985). Every month from December onward had at least 22,000. Summer did not bring a big rise or fall.

Yellow pickups were about 310 to 395 a month until May 2026, then 61–80 a month from June to August. App trips did not drop with them, and the records give no reason.

Fares, trip length and driver pay

The median app trip is 2.51 miles and 12.1 minutes, with a $15.17 fare and $11.90 driver pay before tips and tolls (48th in Brooklyn). Pay per engaged hour is $63.89, 5th in Brooklyn. It measures only time with a passenger, so it is higher than real hourly pay. Tips are 3.7% of fares, $0.81 on average.

Despite the name, trips to Manhattan are rare: only 2.6% of app pickups and 1.4% of yellow pickups were charged the Congestion Relief Zone fee. 1.8% of app pickups went to an airport. Yellow trips have a $30.50 median fare over 6.5 miles.
