When rides start
The busiest hour of the week is 8 a.m. on weekdays (about 117 pickups), a sharp morning spike. Saturday is the busiest day overall (about 1,676 pickups, against 1,485 on a weekday and 1,374 on Sunday), but its hours are flat, between about 80 and 94 from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., with the top at 8 p.m. Sunday peaks at 10 a.m.
Month by month
Pickups rose from 39,466 in September 2025 to 49,538 in December 2025, then stayed between about 44,300 and 47,800 a month through August 2026. Yellow taxi pickups were small and fell in summer, from 375 in January to 155–172 a month from June.
Where trips go
Flushing (21.1%) and trips inside the zone (11.8%) make up a third of everything. Then Bayside (5.5%), Whitestone (4.7%), East Flushing (4.5%) and Auburndale (3.3%). Only 3.3% of app pickups go to an airport, 50th of 67 in Queens. Drop-offs come from the same places: 21% of riders arriving here started in Flushing.
Short trips, low per-trip pay
The median app fare is $14.32 and the median driver pay $11.68 per trip. Both are among the lowest in Queens because the trips are so short. Pay per engaged hour is $63.58 (31st of 67), close to the Queens middle of $62.57. In plain words: each trip pays less, but you spend less time on it. Engaged hours do not include waiting or driving to the pickup, so they are not hourly earnings.
App riders tipped 3.6% of the fare (Queens middle 3.3%). Only 2.9% of app pickups paid the Manhattan congestion fee.
Yellow taxis are a side story here. They made just 3,308 pickups in a year (0.6%, 65th of 67) but dropped off 10,084 riders. Yellow trips that do start here are long, a median of 7.94 miles and a $31.03 metered fare, and card tips on them were very low: 0.4% of the fare.

Aggregates of public data. They describe trips and vehicles, never individual people.
Aggregated by TLC Help from TLC trip records, Sep 2025 – Aug 2026 (pickup date; TLC publishes trip files about two months after the month ends and may revise them). 'App' = high-volume for-hire services (Uber, Lyft). Taxi records with a negative fare (reversals) are excluded. Averages, medians and rates use 'clean' trips only: 1 minute to 4 hours, more than 0 and under 150 miles, fare above $0 and under $1,000. 'Fare' is the metered fare_amount for taxis and base_passenger_fare for app trips — before tolls, tips, taxes and surcharges — so it is not what the passenger paid in total. App driver_pay is TLC's 'total driver pay (not including tolls or tips and net of commission, surcharges, or taxes)'. Tips are separate. 'Per engaged hour' divides pay by passenger time only (pickup to drop-off). It leaves out time driving to pickups and waiting for requests, so real hourly earnings are lower; it is not the TLC minimum-pay formula. Monthly cells with 1–9 trips are shown as blank (null). Pairs with fewer than 10 trips are not listed.
