Great Kills (taxi zone 109) is a mid-sized, very local zone: about 522 pickups a day, and a quarter of them end inside Great Kills itself. Saturday is its biggest day, and pickups keep coming past midnight into Sunday. December 2025 was its busiest month of the year.

The figures come from TLC trip records for September 2025 to August 2026 (yellow taxis, green cabs, Uber and Lyft), counted by TLC Help. Car service and livery trips outside the app companies are not in these files.

'App' = high-volume for-hire services (Uber, Lyft). Taxi records with a negative fare (reversals) are excluded. Averages, medians and rates use 'clean' trips only: 1 minute to 4 hours, more than 0 and under 150 miles, fare above $0 and under $1,000. 'Fare' is the metered fare_amount for taxis and base_passenger_fare for app trips — before tolls, tips, taxes and surcharges — so it is not what the passenger paid in total. App driver_pay is TLC's 'total driver pay (not including tolls or tips and net of commission, surcharges, or taxes)'. Tips are separate. 'Per engaged hour' divides pay by passenger time only (pickup to drop-off). It leaves out time driving to pickups and waiting for requests, so real hourly earnings are lower; it is not the TLC minimum-pay formula. Zone 109 at a glance

Great Kills has five neighbors on TLC's map: Eltingville/Annadale/Prince's Bay (84), Freshkills Park (99), Great Kills Park (110), Heartland Village/Todt Hill (118) and Oakwood (176). Great Kills Park is a separate zone with only 540 pickups all year, so rides from the park side are not counted here. TLC's "Boro Zone" tag on zone 109 is a data label, not a legal line (zones explained).

Fares and pay

The median app trip is 3.24 miles and 12.4 minutes. The fare is $16.82 and driver pay is $13.27 before tips. That is close to the island's middle: 10th of 19 zones.
