Bronx Park (TLC zone 31) behaves like a destination, not a neighbourhood. It averages only about 294 pickups a day (107,462 from September 2025 to August 2026), but Saturdays are 77% busier than weekdays, the biggest weekend jump in the Bronx. Riders arrive in the morning and leave around 5 p.m., more trips end here than start here, and app riders tip more than almost anywhere else in the borough.
These are TLC Help totals from TLC's yellow, green and Uber/Lyft trip files. Direct livery and black car bookings are not in them.
Zone 31 at a glance
TLC lists the zone in the Bronx with the "Boro Zone" data label, which is for data only. It touches eight zones on TLC's map: Belmont, Bronxdale, East Tremont, Norwood, Pelham Parkway, Van Cortlandt Park, Van Nest/Morris Park and Williamsbridge/Olinville. It ranks 38th of 43 Bronx zones by pickups.
In by morning, out by evening
On every type of day, pickups peak at 5 p.m.: about 24 on a weekday, 52 on a Saturday and 41 on a Sunday. Drop-offs peak hours earlier: 9 a.m. on weekdays (about 23) and 10 a.m. on weekends (45 on Saturday, 36 on Sunday). Very few trips start late at night (under 6% between midnight and 5 a.m. on weekdays and Saturdays).
Over the year there were about 112 drop-offs for every 100 pickups (119,830 against 107,462).
Spring and fall peaks
Most of its neighbours peaked in March 2026, but Bronx Park's busiest month was October 2025 (11,947 pickups). April 2026 was second (10,902), and drop-offs peaked that month (12,842). The quietest months were January (6,498) and February 2026 (6,728).
Where trips go
Destinations are spread out. The top ones are Belmont (6.4%), Bedford Park (5.3%), "Outside NYC" (5.2%, TLC zone 265), Bronxdale (4.2%) and Norwood (4.0%); the ten biggest together take only about 39% of pickups. Arrivals are even more spread: the top origin, Bronxdale, supplies just 3.9% of drop-offs.
Fares, pay and tips
App trips from here are longer than the Bronx norm: a median of 3.26 miles and 15.2 minutes, with a $17.22 fare and $15.13 driver pay (tips and tolls not included). App riders tipped 4.9% of the fare, about $1.24 a trip; in the middle Bronx zone the tip rate is about 1.7%. Card-paid yellow cab riders tipped 5.3%, far above neighbouring Norwood (0.2%) and Belmont (0.5%).
7.7% of app pickups paid the Congestion Relief Zone fee, second in the Bronx after Riverdale. As of 2026-10-12, riders pay $1.50 per app trip and $0.75 per taxi trip when it applies (MTA). Pay per engaged hour is $64.13; it counts only time with a rider in the car.
Rules and practical notes
- Hails: the Bronx is in TLC's Hail Zone (Chapter 51), so yellow and green cabs may accept hails. App drivers may only take booked trips (80-19(c)(1), Chapter 80).
- Stands: DOT lists no relief stand or taxi stand sign in zone 31 (checked 2026-10-12). Neighbouring Belmont (Crotona Avenue and Webster Avenue) and Pelham Parkway each have a listed relief stand.
- We do not give venue pickup points or gate rules here, because we found no official TLC source for them. Follow posted signs and who can pick up where.

Data on this page
Aggregates of public data. They describe trips and vehicles, never individual people.
Aggregated by TLC Help from TLC trip records, Sep 2025 – Aug 2026 (pickup date; TLC publishes trip files about two months after the month ends and may revise them). 'App' = high-volume for-hire services (Uber, Lyft). Taxi records with a negative fare (reversals) are excluded. Averages, medians and rates use 'clean' trips only: 1 minute to 4 hours, more than 0 and under 150 miles, fare above $0 and under $1,000. 'Fare' is the metered fare_amount for taxis and base_passenger_fare for app trips — before tolls, tips, taxes and surcharges — so it is not what the passenger paid in total. App driver_pay is TLC's 'total driver pay (not including tolls or tips and net of commission, surcharges, or taxes)'. Tips are separate. 'Per engaged hour' divides pay by passenger time only (pickup to drop-off). It leaves out time driving to pickups and waiting for requests, so real hourly earnings are lower; it is not the TLC minimum-pay formula. Monthly cells with 1–9 trips are shown as blank (null). Pairs with fewer than 10 trips are not listed.
