Aggregated by TLC Help from TLC trip records, Sep 2025 – Aug 2026 (pickup date; TLC publishes trip files about two months after the month ends and may revise them). 'App' = high-volume for-hire services (Uber, Lyft). Taxi records with a negative fare (reversals) are excluded. Averages, medians and rates use 'clean' trips only: 1 minute to 4 hours, more than 0 and under 150 miles, fare above $0 and under $1,000. 'Fare' is the metered fare_amount for taxis and base_passenger_fare for app trips — before tolls, tips, taxes and surcharges — so it is not what the passenger paid in total. App driver_pay is TLC's 'total driver pay (not including tolls or tips and net of commission, surcharges, or taxes)'. Tips are separate. 'Per engaged hour' divides pay by passenger time only (pickup to drop-off). It leaves out time driving to pickups and waiting for requests, so real hourly earnings are lower; it is not the TLC minimum-pay formula. Medians/rates need ≥250 trips (else null). labels are LocationIDs as strings; zones[] has names, boroughs, service_zone (from taxi_zone_lookup.csv), suggested slugs and neighbouring zone ids (shared boundary, from taxi_zones.zip).

Tolls, the congestion zone and other lines

  • Congestion Relief Zone. The zone is south of 60th Street, so pickups here are inside the MTA Congestion Relief Zone: the fee was on 99.5% of app and 98.0% of yellow pickups. The MTA zone excludes West Street/Route 9A, which runs along this zone. As of 2026-10-12, riders pay $1.50 per app trip and $0.75 per taxi trip.
  • Holland Tunnel. The tunnel's Manhattan entrance roads are in this zone; its exit roads are in TriBeCa/Civic Center. Tolls, E-ZPass rates and who pays are on the Holland Tunnel page; the toll calculator works out a full route.
  • Canal Street runs along the zone's southern edge. NYC DOT announced a 20 mph Regional Slow Zone for Manhattan south of Canal Street in October 2024, so the slow zone starts just south of this zone. Follow the posted speed signs.

Stands and practical notes

DOT's data (checked 2026-10-12) shows no relief stand and no taxi-stand sign in zone 125. By our map check, the nearest relief stand in DOT's list is just over the line in SoHo, on Thompson Street between Grand Street and Avenue of the Americas, but it is taxi-only. The nearest one open to FHVs is on Church Street between Franklin and White Streets in TriBeCa. Use the relief stand finder for the full list.
